I admit it...

I am burned out! I have not really recovered from Superweek. I mean, I did, but the idea of riding and training hasn't really come back in site. I am trying to hold it together for 2 more weeks as I am racing in Niwot this weekend (even pre-reg'd) and then the SF Giro on Labor Day.

This past weekend I came back to Denver from my crazy steamroller client trip in the Bay Area and then drove UP and UP to Dillon, CO for a crit. Dillon is at 9,300 feet. I was dizzy just walking over to registration. The race started and I was actually fine, sort of... Vitamin Cottage was driving the pace and I found my line and the wheel I needed to be on and was good to go. Then we got neutralized as there was a strike of lightening that just about hit the start finish. I went from an HR of 180, down to 92 for 20 minutes and then we were back. You know it's a bad thing when they blow the whistle and you think... only 40 more minutes. I stayed on for three laps, got on the wheel of someone that got a gap and rather than pull hard, I pulled off. I wasn't feeling it. I lost my mojo. BooHoo.

Dang, racing in lightening. At least that's one thing we don't have to worry about here.

I just might line up with you at the Giro if I don't lose my nerve before 9/3. It would be great to race together. I can be your lead out :) ha ha!

Challenge is Saturday and I am going for sure. The Giro is Monday. I'll be back, so I can do both :)
