CRC Ladies ROCK!

MLE is so awesome and got all us ladies together for a little CRC Chic celebration. MLE got all the prizes from the BAWR for CRC and divied it up among us with pizza and cake. I have four bags of Galaxy Granola... yummmmm.

Birgit's date arrived. He's such a cutie! Joad is our junior team.
It's not Boonen... but always fun to chat up a pro at lunch time

With the Tour of California coming soon, Dave Zabriskie came to SF to promote some foundation and raise money... sadly, almost no one showed up. I did. I was going to just stop in and go to the gym, but no one was there, so I started talking to the Union Bank folks, a Pez cycling guy and Randi, Dave's wife. I also pedalled for 5 min on the trainer as I was in my work clothes.

Check out his thighs compared to mine...

Oh, and CSC is in training camp next week in Gilroy of all places...
Inspiration Point
I went for a walk with my mom on Sunday evening. I am still trying to figure out my new camera.

Crocerado

I spent the last 10 days in Colorado where Crocs are from. I shot this photo at DIA as I was trying to find something to do. I got to DIA too early after skiing my heart out at Vail. What an amazing place to ski!!! The bowls are endless. The only problem was that I decided to call it quits when I was too tired to do more tele turns... but it takes almost an hour to get from the bowls back to Vail village! My legs were on fire... my butt and thighs are killing me today. I also took a major digger in the trees. I had to laugh and laugh as it hurt so much! I was spralled in the middle of some trees all tangled in my skis and poles. If you don't have a good crash, you are not trying hard enough!

(driving along in my Kia Sorrento rental car and taking pictures... scary!)
Yummers

Sorry, or not, I just had to post this photo.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I arrived last week for 10 days of work and play in Denver. All I keep hearing is that it isn't usually this cold and yes, there are mountains visible from downtown. On Wednesday it was 60 degrees and people were commuting on bikes in shorts. On Thursday it was 20 and Friday -7. I skied Beaver Creek on Saturday and had one of my best tele days ever. 20 inches of new snow and for the first time, I loved my tele skies. I didn't have to fight them, I just let go and the plowed through the powder brilliantly. Beaver Creek is also the swankiest resort I have skied... fancy lotion in the bathrooms, people bussing the tables, cookies handed to you when you are leaving. All this for the low cost of $85 per day! OUCH. I loved the floor length furs and Conti of Florence faux cowboy hats. I mean, if you are going to by a cowboy hat, why not get one made in Italy?

Jenn sent me to a great bike shop in Denver Highlands area, Mob Cyclery. They had a set up for trainers and a HUGE flat screen showing old tours and races. It was all of 9 degrees outside by the time I got to the shop. I think they sell only Scotts. I think that was the only bike I saw there.
Yesterday I headed up to Boulder as yes, I have never been. Again, no site of mountains, all snow on the ground and a tropical temperature of 17. I have my scary Subaru Forester for the driving (with CA plates) and it actually handled the snowy roads really well.

This doggy was stairing at the burrito making at Illegal Pete's.

There is a Stabucks every 3 stores in Colorado.
Snottsdale
I had to attend a meeting in Scottsdale and as the USAC United certificates expire at the end of January, I brought along my Olmo and rode. The riding isn't all that great there, but early season miles are not bad there. 34 miles and 1000 feet of elevation. The staff at the Keirland Westin Resort and Spa thought I was crazy... all the other guests are golfers, I suspect.
I have a few photos... but I will have to post them later.
Update on Crash

The question was: "what was Kurt thinking about when he ploughed into me on the GGB?" Kurt called two days ago to see what he needed to pay for (about 4 massages, please...) and I said that my friends and I had been taking a poll on what he was thinking about. I said that the number one thought was a break up. I know that I start to lose my mind when I am dumped (which seems to happen more regularly than not). Rafael thought that he was trying to figure out how he was going to pay for his Christmas purchases. Neither is the case.
Apparently, Kurt's friend ploughed into a group of Blazing Saddles Japanese tourists not too long ago. Kurt was thinking about how silly his friend was and how he had made a bad decision to pass the group. Then he saw me and ploughed into me. Interesting.
Again, had I seen him on a tourist bike, I would not have decided to make the turn onto the bridge.
Bud's new don't

Bud just sent out photos of his hairdo (don't) in process. I would have loved to give my dad a mohawk, sadly, he really doesn't have enough hair anymore. Go Bud for being a cool dad!!
Happy New Year

I live an exciting life! I boxed up my Olmo for my trip to Snottsdale on the 2nd and watched "Super Size Me". I will NEVER NEVER NEVER eat another McNugget. Lily is learning my favorite pose for a photo!
